Running *Link Up week 1

It's done.  Over.  I'm finally cracking down.  I'm going to get back to a regular running routine.

I miss it, and I've missed for a long time.  Even though I miss it, I somehow always found an excuse.
"I'm too tired."  "I've lost all my baby weight, so I really don't need to go run." "I don't have enough time." "I have to work tonight, so I should rest instead." "I need to give Jeremy a break from watching the boys."  "I need to spend time with the boys instead of going running.".  Those are all excuses that I have made for myself for the past few months.

I've already signed up for a few 5Ks this fall.  I'm doing the Color Run, and the Zombie Run.  I'm so excited for each of them!

In the color run, all the runners where an all white outfit.  At each kilometer, there are tons of people ready to squirt/throw all kinds of color all over you.  The point is to get as colorful as possible!  You're like a human coloring book on the run.

The Zombie run is going to be just as awesome, but also very terrifying.  It works like this:  You have 2 types of runners.  Zombies, and runners.  As a runner, you have flags around your waist, and you are trying to make it to the finish line with your flags still in place.  You will be chased by zombie runners.  As a zombie, you are running the race, but you are chasing the runners and trying to grab their flags.  If a runner gets his/her flags ripped off, then he/she then becomes a zombie and gets to chase down other runners!

So.  Back to my plan.  I've just decided to do it and make myself run.  I feel so much better afterwards and in general, getting started is just the problem!  Solutions for my excuses:

"I'm too tired." - I've been way more productive and way less sleep before.  suck it up.

"I've lost all my baby weight, so I really don't need to go run." - maybe, but I'm definitely not near as toned as I used to be!  And weight loss isn't why I like running.

"I don't have enough time." - yes you do.  Make time.  Let Jeremy make dinner one night.  Get off Facebook and Pinterest and Blogger and go run.

"I have to work tonight, so I should rest instead." - You'll be ok.  That's what coffee is for.  Plus, running will probably give me an extra energy boost.

"I need to give Jeremy a break from watching the boys."  - This one doesn't apply as much anymore since Jeremy now has a full time job and isn't stay at home daddy.  I'm sure he would actually like some quality time with just him and the boys.

"I need to spend time with the boys instead of going running." - run while they sleep, or when they're at daycare. Or better yet, take them with me.  Better workout, and they love being outside.

So that's it.  Excuses are no more.  Running is going to come back as a regular routine in my life.  I've already been a few times the past week or so.  I ran for 45 mins straight one day, did 3 miles another day, did 2.5 miles another and ran for 1 hour yesterday.  I hope to do a half marathon in the spring, and then maybe by next fall step it up and do a full.

**I hope to write a running update post each week, and I'll be linking up with Krystle over on her blog, 3 Little Men & A Mommy!  I'm looking forward to linking up and reading about other running mamas!

{MoM} My Twin Pregnancy

This week I'm linking up with Jennifer for the Moms of Multiples weekly link-up!  This week's topic is multiple pregnancies, so here is my story.

I loved being pregnant.  It was fun to watch my belly grow, knowing that they were 2 little boys growing in there as well.  I was never sick, and I felt great the whole time.  The only times that were a little rough were the last few weeks before delivery.  I started to get swollen feet, was sore all over and just had a hard time doing normal things...like tying my shoes, or bending over to grab things, or just walking somewhere without hitting someone with the ginormous lump on my body.  I really didn't feel the boys moving around until about 22 weeks.  I guess they really didn't have much room to move in the beginning, and I couldn't feel anything until they grew enough to have the strength to give big kicks.  But man they kicked a lot.  It made me smile all the time, it was so fun.

It surprised me more and more everyday just how big my belly stretched out to be.  I just kept thinking "Surely this thing can't get any bigger".  But it kept getting bigger. and bigger.  We wanted to have a little fun when finding out the genders of our twins, so we had a gender reveal party, where we had the determining ultrasound, but instead of the tech telling us the babies' gender, she wrote it down, and sealed it in an envelope.  We gave that envelope to a friend of ours, and she had a double layer cake made, the cake corresponding with the color of the twins' genders.  We (still not knowing the gender) sliced into the cake at a party with all of our friends, and we all found out together that we were having twin boys!  I immediately started working on my boys' nursery, which I based off of the children's book, The Giving Tree.  You can see the nursery here.

I ended up delivering my twins at 37 weeks and 2 days.  Both my boys were born very healthy, and for that I am very thankful.  You can read my birth story here and here.

Foxx and Judah were 6 lbs 2 oz, and 5 lbs 3 oz, respectively.

I look at them even today and wonder how in they heck these growing little dudes started out as tiny little beans in my belly.

Introducing...Myself.

Hi!  I'm linking up today with Heather of Just Wait Til You have Kids, whose blog I found through Krystle, of 3 Little Men & A Mommy.  They are both moms of multiples, and I'm excited to try and do this link up each week to meet some new folks!  The theme for this week's link up is introducing ourselves.  so, here I am!

My name is Sarah.  I am wife to Jeremy, an awesome stay at home daddy.  I am mommy to identical twin boys, Judah and Foxx.  Jeremy and I will be married for 4 years this June.  Our boys are 9 months old, and are the coolest little dudes ever.  They are crawling around like crazy, and will surely be walking soon.  We live in Nashville, TN.  I am a nurse and I work on a Burn Unit in a local hospital.  Jeremy is in theology school as well as being a stay at home dad, which he loves.  We love biking, hiking, cooking and spending time together as a family while doing all of those things.  We are vegan, and I have a food blog where I share some of our favorite recipes.  It's called Little Kitchen, Lovely Food.  We cloth diaper, make homemade baby food, and try to live simple.  We love our life with our little boys and wouldn't change it for anything!
